MAIN AREAS OF THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES IN THE SPHERE OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
– Study, analysis, and evaluation of sociopolitical and socio-economic processes taking place in the state at the regional local level, identified problems, preparation of analytical reports, development of reasonable proposals for their solution.
– Preparation of proposals for improving legislation and relevant program documents regulating the activities of local self-government bodies, local executive bodies in the areas of local and regional development, territorial organization of power and other issues related to their competence.
– Conducting public examination of projects of normative legal acts in the spheres of regional policy, territorial organization of power and on other issues related to the competence of local self-government bodies and the activities of local executive bodies.
– Development of mechanisms for effective interaction of local self-government bodies with local and central bodies of executive power and parliamentary committees.
– Interaction and support of the activities of consultative and advisory bodies on issues of regional development, local self-government, formed under state authorities, interaction with associations of local self-government bodies, cooperation with programs and projects of international technical assistance.
– Preparation of methodologies, key indicators for monitoring the state of capacity and state of development of territorial communities.
– Study and generalization of international experience in the field of territorial development, development of local self-government, decentralization, and preparation of proposals for its practical application in Ukraine.
– Development of forms and mechanisms for the development of participatory democracy at the local level, in particular regarding the involvement of citizens in determining priorities during the development of strategies for integrated development of communities.
– Organization and holding of public events (round tables, conferences, forums, summits, etc.) with the participation of key stakeholders to discuss current issues, in particular draft legal acts on local and regional development, on the provision of administrative and communal services, development of participatory democracy regarding the institutional capacity of local authorities.
– Organization and holding of trainings, seminars with the involvement of domestic and foreign experts, representatives of legislative and executive authorities for deputies of local councils, employees of local self-government bodies, local state administrations, communal enterprises and institutions.
– Generalization and dissemination of best practices in the field of activities of local and regional authorities, development agencies, as well as international experience.
– Organization of information and communication events aimed at highlighting the activities of the Academy and other subjects.
